Children are required to wear loose, comfortable clothing and sensible footwear (trainers/daps/jazz shoes or split soles dance trainers).

Please provide your child with a water bottle.

We recommend that children attending Show Club have a black leotard, black leggings and ballet shoes or jazz shoes that can be worn to class and for our shows.

We have company t-shirts and hoodies available to order.

All classes are 1 hour with the exception of the baby and toddler classes which are 50 minute sessions.

Private sessions are 30 mins.

We prefer you not to as it can sometimes disrupt the session. You can, however, wait in another room if we have one available that day. We will take your phone number and be in touch if we need you to come back. Some parents like to wait in the car for the trial class.

Absolutely not! We like children to get up and dance and move around the space freely and we would love for you to get involved and join them. Movement is a big part of our classes and we know how important it is for a child to explore a space and get important daily exercise. The last thing that we want is for you to feel uncomfortable at class if your child is very active. All we ask is that you take responsibility for keeping your own child safe.

Yes, of course. Please complete the ‘book a trial’ form and we’ll get back to you to confirm you have beed added to the waiting list.

Yes we do. We aim to put on a Showcase of classwork every year and we also hold presentations where we present children with certificates and awards for all their hard work! Every child is rewarded here at The Theatre Box and every child is noticed.

We are a team of professional, qualified and experienced playworkers and performing arts teachers. We have a paediatric First Aid trained member of staff at every session and all of our staff and assistants have an Enhanced DBS. We are an organisation member of Bristol and Neighbourhood day care.

Yes. We run workshops throughout the year in school holidays. Please follow us on Instagram and Facebook and keep an eye out for these.

Signing up

Yes we do! We like children to try a session before you register them.

When joining our classes at any point in the term, we will charge you for the classes left in that term and discount your trial class. Sign up for your free trial here.

  1. Sign them up for a free trial by clicking here.
  2. After your child has had their trial, you will be invited to register your child with us by clicking here.
  3. Once registered, you will create an account on our Customer Portal to view invoices and manage your termly payments. You can access that by clicking here. (Approval takes approx 48 hours. Check your spam folder for confirmation email. Then you will be ready to login and view your invoice)
  4. Once you have created and account on our Customer Portal, and added you bank details, payments for your sessions will be taken automatically during the first week of each term by Direct Debit.

Yes, providing we have space in that session. You will be asked to pay for the remainder of the classes for that term following your trial class.

Fees & Payments

We’ve created a simple process that means you will never have to worry about how much you have to pay, missing an invoice or your payment being late. Here’s what happens:

After your free trial, you will be invited to register your child with us. This involves completing a simple online form. 

After that, you will set up an account on our Customer Portal. As part of this process, you will add your bank details on your account.

You will be able to view your invoices every term on the Customer Portal.

Your payments for the term ahead will be taken automatically during the first week of each new term.

Yes. The second child will receive a 50% discount where both children attend the same class.

No, the fee for the adult is included in the termly or pay on the day price.

The termly fee for baby and toddler sessions works out at £7 per session.

For these sessions only, we allow a pay-on-the-day option. This is charged at £8 per session.

Yes please – we would like as much notice as possible. We don’t ask you to pay for the next term if you don’t plan for your child to attend, but we do charge for the term if you leave in the middle of it. We like to know as soon as possible so that we can offer the space to a child on the waiting list. We require 7 days notice before a new term begins. Please refer to our terms and conditions.

Unfortunately not. When paying for your child’s classes you are paying for the space in that class and we are unable to offer that space out for the odd session. Despite our class numbers, our expenses remain the same.

Yes, but only for our baby and toddler classes. Classes are £8 pay on the day as opposed to £7 when paying for a block of 7. You must contact us ahead of a class starting to check we have space that day.

You may have heard that we manage your termly payments through GoCardless. GoCardless is a simple, safe and secure Direct Debit system that we use to automatically collect your termly class payments during the first week of each new term.

You will be given details of how to register and set up your account (including Direct Debit) after your child has had their free trial. 

Collecting full payment via Direct Debit (GoCardless) during the first week of term for the the term ahead is our preferred way of you paying for your child’s classes.

We pride ourselves on making our sessions accessible to all, so if due to financial reasons this payment schedule would mean your child is not able to attend our classes, please get in touch and we can discuss splitting your payments evenly across 12 months.
